Young Investigator Network

The Young Investigator Network meets in the Maerksk Tower

Bringing together high-end skills from basic, translational and clinical skin research

The Young Investigator Network is a self-organizing professional and social initiative formed by early-career researchers from the LEO Foundation Skin Immunology Research Center and clinical dermatological departments in the Copenhagen area. The network aims to expand the professional network of its members and to initiate interdisciplinary research activities with peers.

The LEO Foundation Skin Immunology Research Center is built on the ‘team science concept’, which joins forces between basic, translational and clinical skin research. So is the Young Investigator Network. Members range from basic lab scientists in the Mærsk Tower to dermatologists in training at the clinical dermatology departments at Herlev and Gentofte Hospital, Bispebjerg and Frederiksberg Hospital and Roskilde University Hospital. Each member contributes with specialized skills, methodological expertise and unique access to data within their particular field of skin and skin disease research.

The members enjoy support from their respective PIs and departments and have an allocated budget to run career development activities and explore the synergetic potentials in collaborations. In this way, the network works as seeding ground for larger collaborative projects in and beyond the LEO Foundation Skin Immunology Research Center.

Who can join the network?

As a researcher, you can join the network if you are:

  • Assistant professor, postdoc, PhD student or research assistant at the LEO Foundation Skin Immunology Research Center
  • Research active dermatologist in training in the Capital Region or Region Zealand.
